Lou Buice

Biography

Lou has spent virtually his entire lifetime in agriculture. He grew up in a small farming community outside of Waco in the Blacklands of Central Texas, with a family legacy active in cotton production and gin operations. After graduating from Texas A & M University in 1979 with a B. S. degree in Agricultural Economics, Lou began his career with Elanco Products Company.

During his twenty-eight year career in agriculture, he has held numerous sales and marketing positions within the crop and animal health markets.

Lou entered the agriculture biotech industry as Director of Marketing for Mycogen Corporation, San Diego, California in 1990. His seed career began in 1995 when he relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota as Mycogen’s Corn Product Manager. Lou transferred back to his native Texas in 1996 as a District Sales Manager and later Southern Area Business Development Manager for Mycogen Seeds. In 1999, Lou and Bernard Selensky co-founded Golden Acres Genetics, Ltd., a southern seed company focused on providing agricultural producers with agronomic solutions utilizing the latest technology and proven seed genetics. The company is based out of Waco, Texas, where he now serves as President.

Lou and his wife Regina have two sons, J.T. and Ty.
